How to Upload an event from eDive to a Colorado System 6 Timer

These steps outline the process for uploading an event from eDive into a Colorado System 6 timer. This process works for a Colorado 6 timer with a firmware version of 1.32 and a software/sport loader version of 1.110.

Steps: (These steps take you thru creating a new meet but you could just as well select an existing meet)

  1. Power on the CTS 6 if it is not already on
  2. Enter "Diving" from the main CTS menu. This should leave you on the "Choose Meet" screen.
  3. Press the "Down" button to get to an empty slot
  4. Enter the name of the meet as listed in eDive and press the "Enter" key to save the new meet. You will be left on the "Choose Event" screen.
  5. Press "Quit"
  6. Press "Import/Export" on the main screen. You should now be on the screen where you see the "Import Event" option.
  7. Press the arrow on the CTS to select the meet that you want to import the event into. This is important ... make sure the meet gets highlighted !!
  8. Plug the serial cable into your computer. It is important that the cable be plugged in before you upload into the timer. Before opening the "Upload To Colorado" screen in eDive or the run event screen in eDive, make sure your cables are plugged in.
  9. Plug the end of the cable into the CTS 6 timers COM 1 port. It must be in the COM 1 port.
  10. Start eDive
  11. In eDive select “Tools/Upload to Colorado”. Select the meet and event you want to upload.
  12. Verify the event by clicking the verify button.
  13. The first COM port listed on this screen should be the correct COM port to use. If you know it should be different then select the correct COM port. You can verify what COM port has been assigned in your computer by Windows by checking Device Manager.
  14. Press the "Import Event" button on the CTS timer
  15. Select the event type (1 Meter, 3 Meter, Platform, etc…).
  16. Press the "Transmit" button in eDive. After it is done transmitting eDive should display a message letting you know it is done. Click OK to close the message. The CTS timer will give you no feedback that anything happened.
  17. In the timer select “Edit Event”.
  18. Select “Edit Sessions”.
  19. Change the # of judges scoring if needed.
  20. Press “Quit”.
  21. Press “Quit” again.
  22. Press the “Connect To Timing System” button in the eDive software on the Run Event screen.
  23. Select “Run Event” in the timer.

*To display the diver’s name on the scoreboard, open the “Diving” menu in Display Link and enter the names in the dive order listed in eDive. There is an eDive report called DisplayLink which will list all of the names of the divers in an event.

A BIG thanks to John Janak of Frisco ISD for documenting the process !!
