RELEASE NOTES: ----------------------------- Version 2.9.3 - August 20, 2011 This version makes the following corrections/additions: - updated the judging panel screen. The whole process of creating a judging panel has been made easier and less restrictive. The panel selection/definition is still on the run event screen where it always has been. Now you can enter as much or as little information as you need. You can specify who the head referee is, who the balk judge is and define a separate head ref (one who does not throw scores). You can now also define the area/region where the judge is from to make sure you have the representation on the panel that you need. - the judging analysis will now pull in any judging panels you have defined for the event you are analyzing. - The combine events screen has been updated to provide more explanatory information about what it does. RELEASE NOTES: ----------------------------- Version 2.9.2 - July 11, 2011 This version makes the following corrections/additions: - minor changes to the USD future champions rules. - when you're running an event and a diver fails 2 dives. You will get automatically prompted to cut the diver. This now happens only when the 2nd failed dive is hit. - The labels report has been updated. YOu can now choose to include Cut and Exhibition divers. Exhibition divers will show "EXHIBITION" instead of a place/ranking on the label. - The dive sheets report now shows the word "EXHIBITION" when the diver is flagged as exhibition. - When transferring divers from an old scored event to a new event there was a regression issue with the code and older code was released in one of the previous releases. This has been corrected. This issue addresses: Cut and Exhibition divers team points will be zeroed out when scoring an event. - When running an event with divers who are registered but have not had a dive sheet entered yet, you will receive a new prompt. If you continue to run the event then those divers will be unregistered and the diving order for that event will be resequenced so that the order is sequential. Please be aware that if you also have uploaded your event to an electronic timing system then you may need to re-upload your event to the timer because the diving order will have changed. RELEASE NOTES: ----------------------------- Version 2.9.1 - June 30, 2011 This version makes the following corrections/additions: - The award labels report has been updated to allow you to select whether to include exhibition divers and cut divers. If exhibition divers are included in the labels then it will show the word "EXHIBITION" instead of their ranking. - The dive sheets report has been updated to show the word "Exhibition" if the diver is flagged as being exhibition in that event. - When a diver fails 2 dives you will be automatically prompted to cut that diver. This function has been updated to only prompt you when the diver fails their 2nd dive and not any subsequent fails. - Some updates to the USD Future Champions ruleset. They were also updated to load much faster than the old versions. - Some reports had minor changes: Announcers script report can now be printed by round or by diver. Dive History report has been changed to show all dives performed and the scores for the last ten meets for that dive. Diving order report now allows you to include/exclude cut divers. Official results report now includes a column to show the total voluntary score. The team roster report has been reformatted slightly. New report - Meet History. Shows final score and place for all meets for a diver. New report - Team Points by Meet. Shows total team points for an entire meet. New report - Team Points by Event. Shows total team points for each event selected. New report - Voluntary/Optional Totals. Prints columns for total score, voluntary total and optionals total. The report can be sorted by any of these columns. - Issue resolved where some divers were being assigned a default club of Unattached. - New high school 11 dive mixed gender event was added. - 5227D now correctly included as a valid NFHS dive. - DDs adjusted for 5227, 5126 and 5136 according to the latest update from the NFHS (April 18. 2011). These dives now have the same DD as calculated by the FINA formula. - New menu option under File->Backup->Current Database. This option allows you to make a backup copy of the database you are currently using. You can specify the name and location of the backup file to create. - While running an event, if you have a diver that has failed 2 dives you will be prompted to cut that diver from the event. - The backup log file created while running an event has been renamed to make it easier to find. It will now have a file name that matches the event name. - The leader board on the run event screen will now re-position so that the leader is always visible at the top. - Hy-Tek Import entries has been updated to more accurately identify existing divers and clubs in your database to reduce duplication. RELEASE NOTES: ----------------------------- Version 2.8.1 build 5 - December 22, 2010 This version makes the following corrections/additions: - The diving sheet reports have been updated. You can now print the 1 meter diving table on your dive sheets. Please note that including the 1 meter diving table limits how many rounds of dives can be included on the sheet. For an NFHS, AAU, USD and FINA formatted dive sheet you can fit up to 8 rounds of dives. For an NCAA formatted dive sheet you can fit up to 6 rounds. - If you include the divers age on a dive sheet, that divers age will be calculated using the date of birth for that diver. If no date of birth is specified then the value you entered for the divers age will be used instead. If neither is specified then no age will be shown. - When printing dive sheets without the 1 meter diving table included, you will get a 1.5" page header on each page. - The following reports have been rewritten: Unofficial Results, Official Results. - The Unofficial results report now allows you to include the divers age, group and/or grade. RELEASE NOTES: ----------------------------- Version 2.6.1 - February 3, 2008 This version makes the following corrections/additions: - CHANGE: NCAA 1 meter voluntary max changed from 9.5 to 9.0. - ADDED: You can now merge 2 divers and combine all of their information into one diver. In some situations you may have inadvertently created and registered the same diver with 2 different name spellings. This new function allows you to combine those 2 divers to remove the duplicate. This function will merge the divers personal information and all of their event registrations and dive lists. Select from the Tools menu and then "Merge 2 Divers". - ADDED: You can now recalculate the ages of all divers in your database based on a date you specify. This function is useful for age group meets where the age of the diver is based on their age as of a specific date. For example, most FINA meets use a divers age as of December 31st of the current year. The age for all divers will be re-calculated that have a date of birth entered. Select the Tools menu item and then "Recalculate Divers Age". - BUG: Registering a diver for an event, in some situations, caused the diver to appear unattached to a team. This issue has been addressed. RELEASE NOTES: ----------------------------- Version 2.6.0 build 02 - July 25, 2007 This version makes the following corrections/additions: - CHANGE: the DD Calculator tool had minor cosmetic changes. - BUG: If you import diving lists from the csv entries file after you have imported event entries from a Meet Manager entries export file, the diving order does not get set correctly for all divers. This issue has been fixed. - ADDED: DD Calculator has been added as a shortcut in the Start->All Programs eDive menu. Through this shortcut the DD Calculator can be run separately from the main eDive application. RELEASE NOTES: ----------------------------- Version 2.6.0 - July 16, 2007 This version makes the following corrections/additions: - CHANGE: All reports in the system have been modified. The formatting has been changed and many options have been added to each report. This new reporting system is more flexible than the previous and should provide you with options that allow you to customize the reports the way you want to see them. - CHANGE: Changing the judging scheme for a combined event now changes the judging scheme for all events that are part of that combined event. Most of the limitations when creating and manipulating combined events have been eliminated. - CHANGE: The routines to rank divers on the leaderboard have been rewritten. They now show ties. - BUG: An uncommon series of steps was discovered that creates 2 dive lists for one diver in one event. This issue has been fixed. - CHANGE: The diver registration screen has been changed so that all of the divers names appear as lastname, firstname, middle initial. - ADDED: On the diver registration screen a column has been added to the list of divers to show the club abbreviation of the club that appears on the diver information screen. Please note that the club listed on the diver registration screen (next to the divers name) can be different than the club the diver is associated with for a particular meet. - CHANGE: When a diver is registered for an event the computer will attempt to assign a default coach for that diver. A list of all coaches that are associated with the divers club will be searched and the first coach found (alphabeticaly by last name) will be associated with that diver. You can then change the coach to a different one if you need to. - ADDED: Two new buttons have been added to the toolbar of the run event screen. These buttons run the unofficial and official results reports for the currently running event. - BUG: When importing the same Hy-Tek Merge Entries file multiple times, duplicate teams will be created in some circumstances. This issue has been corrected. - ADDED: Two new fields have been added to the diver information screen. These fields are "Grade" and "Group". The "Grade" field is designed to hold the grade that the diver is in school, whether that is high school or college. You can enter up to 10 characters in this field to describe the grade. The "Group" field is a more flexible field. It is designed to contain a group description for the diver. For example, in our state, the high schools are divided into 11 sections. So at our State meet we would enter the section number this diver is from as in "Section 5". It can really be used to group the divers any way you see fit. This field can hold up to 10 characters. Both of these new fields are available to be printed on most of the reports. - CHANGE: When including a divers age on a report you have the option to base their age as of December 31st of the current year or base it on their actual birthdate. If there is no birthdate supplied for a diver then the age will not appear on the report. RELEASE NOTES: ----------------------------- Version 2.5.1 - February 20, 2007 This version makes the following corrections/additions: - CHANGE: Dives with 2 or more SS and twists can only be executed in position B or C. - CHANGE: Armstand twisters with 1 to 2 SS and 1 or more twists can only be done in the free position. - ADDED: USD has finalized their Future Champions ruleset so the 2007 rules for all governing bodies have been released. The rules for USD Future Champions Level 1 and 2 have been excluded because these levels are meant for an impromptu quick skill test type meet that can more easily be run by hand. - BUG: The license name was not refreshing correctly on the bottom of the screen when selecting a new license file. - CHANGE: Ommitted from the release notes for 2.5.0. The leaderboard on the run event screen now shows the divers name in their diving order when the event is first run. The leaderboard now draws a line through the divers who have been cut to more easily identify the cut divers. - ADDED: You are now able to import entries from a delimited text file. Coaches can send you a normal text file containing their divers, team and dive lists and that file can be directly imported into eDive. They do not need eDive to create this entry file. It can be created using MS Windows Notepad.exe. To import a delimited entry file you would select from the menus, File -> Import -> Delimited Entries. The format for the file is in a separate text file called delimitedentriesformat.txt and is installed when you apply the patch to version 2.5.1. It is also included here for clarification. This analysis is the official judging analysis used by FINA. This version has been verified by FINA. Select Tools/Judging Analysis. Select the meet and event to analyze. Enter the names of the judges for each panel used. If you leave the names empty then "Judge 1", "Judge 2", etc. will be used. Enter the rounds judged by each panel separated by a comma. Example) If Panel A judged the even rounds and Panel B judged the odd rounds then for Panel A Rounds you would enter 2,4,6 and for Panel B you would enter 1,3,5 assuming you were running a 6 round event. If only one panel was used for an 11 dive event then you would enter 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11 for Panel A only. Press the "Perform Analysis" button to start the process. Once complete the analysis will be saved as a text file in the install directory. The program will display the name and location of the file created. You have the option of opening the analysis right then or at a later time. - ADDED: The program will remember the last meet and event selected when navigating to different screens. If you select "Run Event" the program will display the "GO" screen but will have the last meet and event you selected shown in the dropdowns as a default. This should save you from having to select the meet and event every time you want to do something in the program. - ADDED: A renewal reminder will now be displayed if the maintenance renewal is coming due. This dialog will be displayed within the last 2 months of your 12 month maintenance contract. You can click the "Remind me again in 15 days" button on this screen and the message will go away for 15 days. If you click the purchase button on that screen then the eDive purchase web page will be displayed where you can purchase your maintenance renewal. - ADDED: If the license you are attempting to load is invalid or has expired then you will be prompted with a dialog that lets you browse for a valid license, purchase a maintenance renewal, load the demo version or exit the program. The first time you run this new verison you may see this prompt. Just browse to your eDive installation directory of "C:\Program Files\eDive" and select the file "License.INI". If the license is valid you will not see this prompt again. - ADDED: You now have the ability to select a database to open. Select "File" from the menu and then "Open". Then select "eDive Database", browse to the directory where you database is and select it. The program will then open it. The database can be named anything you like. This gives you the flexibility of having separate databases for high school, college and club. The name of the currently selected database will be shown at the bottom of the eDive main screen. - ADDED: You now have the ability to select which license file to use. Some customers purchase licenses for their club and also for their high school. With this option you can load either license by selecting "File" from the menu and then "Open". Then select "eDive License". Browse to the directory where you license if stored and select it. eDive will valdiate it and then open it. For users with multiple licenses please rename your license.ini file to one with a more obvious name. So if you have a high school license and a club license you could rename your license files from license.ini to LicenseHighSchool.ini and LicenseClub.ini. They can then both be stored in the same directory and you can switch back and forth easily. - ADDED: If you run your meet using the split event format you can now merge the split events back together again by selecting "Events/Merge 2 Events" from the main menu. The AAU introduced a new format for running large events. By splitting an event between 2 boards (running 50% on one board and 50% on the other at the same time) you can dramtically reduce the time needed to run an event. With this new feature you can now re-combine a split event to instantly report on results for the entire event. You can run your event split between 2 boards, re-combine them when done and then instantly report on the event as a whole. - CHANGE: For those users that use Colorado's DisplayLink software the display link report has been updated. - CHANGE: The dialog for importing and exporting eDive data now allows you to select the drive and directory where the data will be imported from or exported to. - BUG: The announcers script without descriptions was not printing divers in the correct order for combined events. - ADDED: Group D 2 optional tower event for men and women. - CHANGE: The import specifications for the Daktronics Pro diving software changed so we have updated our exporting routines. If you do not have the current version of the Daktronics Diving Pro software please contact Daktronics and they will upgrade you to the latest version. - CHANGE: Minor updates to the Hy-Tek Meet Manager export routines. - ADDED: Support for Digital Insight judging pads has been added. - CHANGE: The layout of the About screen has been changed. - BUG: The club association issue has been addressed. In some situations a diver may be associated with the wrong club when running reports or on the run event screen. If you see that the diver registration information is shown correctly but the diver is registered as unattached or with the wrong club when running the event then follow these steps to correct the situation. Open the diver information screen by selecting "Edit" from the menu and then "Divers". Select the diver who has the incorrect club association. Change the club to something else and then change it back to the correct club. Click the Save button. Close the screen. Changing any piece of information on that diver information screen will cause a database update to that diver. When the diver is updated the program updates every event entry for that diver with the club name you just selected. Now go back to the screen where you saw the wrong club association. If it still shows incorrectly then please refresh the screen. The correct club association will now be shown. Creating a meet with an apostrophe in the name is no longer an issue. - BUG: when exporting to a Daktronics Pro Diving Data file and you select an existing file, the existing file is appended to instead of replaced by the new data. - BUG: If you try and connect to a Daktronics timing system you get an ActiveX can't create object error. The last patch and install program were compiled with an incorrect version of one of the files. This hotfix corrects that issue. - CHANGE: The USD Senior Tower Women event is incorrectly labeled. It reads 6 dives instead of 5. The rules for the event do evaluate correctly using 5 dives. The NCAA Mens 6 optionals and Womens Tower 5 optionals events were missing from the list of events. - BUG: If you added the event FINA Group E Boys 1M to your meet the program would not let you enter any dives into the event. This has been corrected. - CHANGE: Due to a re-interpretaiton of the US Diving rules the Novice 14-15 1m & 3m and Novice 16-18 1m & 3m rules have been changed. The phrase "no more than 2 dives being from any one group" applies to only the optionals (the last 5 dives). This hotfix updates the library used to validate these rules. To determine if you have the current version please select Help/About from the main menu. Then click the "Program Info" button. For the item listed as "Rule set for USD Novice events" the Version number listed should be "1.7.1 Build 006". - BUG: dives 001 and 002 are not being recognized as a forward category dive and a back category dive, respectively, when they are used as optionals. This has been corrected. - BUG: When adding events to your meet if the event name stretched outside the bounds of the list it would become unselectable. AAU uses FINA rules with 2 additional events GROUP D and GROUP E. These groups are not officially supported by FINA but can be used at AAU meets. USD uses a variation of FINA rules with 2 additional event definitions for age groups "10-11" and "9 & under". Please note that the USD rules for "10-11" and "9 & under" are different than the AAU/FINA Group D and E events. - CHANGE: older event formats will not be seen when you go to add an event to a meet. You will only see 2006 event formats. The older event formats will still work (for events you have already run) and they will still be validated but you will only be able to add 2006 events to any meets you create with this version of the program. The report will include all events for the selected meet regardless of the event you select. To print a specific event simply find the page that the event starts on and ends on and print just those pages. Just click "Connect to Timing System" and select Colorado or Daktronics. If you select Daktronics a 'Test' button will be available to check your connection to the Daktronics OmniSport 2000 timer. - CHANGE: Degree of difficulties for dives not on the high school dive chart were being calculated by the program. For high school events the program will no longer calculate a DD for a dive that is not in the NFHS dive chart. It will display the name of the dive but will show a DD of 0 (zero). - BUG: Some users reported being unable to export results from a diving event in eDive to a Meet Manager export file. The file would be created but would contain very little or no information. This problem was caused by 1 or more clubs containing an apostrophe in their name. It will display the name of the dive but will show a DD of 0 (zero). - BUG: Some users reported being unable to export results from a diving event in eDive to a Meet Manager export file. The file would be created but would contain very little or no information. This problem was caused by 1 or more clubs containing an apostrophe in their name. This hot fix corrects this issue. - ADDED: New events have been added for High School.
